Dona Merced Elementary School's Water Project

Total Raised: $155.00

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have clean water to drink?

I'm helping raise funds to provide clean, safe drinking water to people who suffer needlessly without it in the developing world, and could really use your help!

Our donations will be used to construct a specific water project. We'll get pictures, GPS coordinates, and reports from the field, as they happen. We'll see the actual results of what we've done.

In their own words...

"Filthy water cannot be washed" Old African proverb.

Could you imagine life without clean water? We believe that everyone deserves something as simple and critical for life as clean, safe water. We believe a child in Africa has as much right as we do, to spend their days in school learning and growing instead of fetching and drinking dirty, diseased water from a pit. We believe we can make a difference. And we believe you can help!

Clean water changes lives."When water comes...everything changes." That's what a local villager from a town in Kenya said. Children can return to school. People can start small businesses. They are no longer too sick to work. Fields are watered and food supply becomes more reliable. Health returns and children grow up to be productive members of their community. The cycle of poverty will be broken. Lives will change. Please get involved. Help Doña Merced Elementary School raise enough money to have a well built for an African community. One well serves from 500 - 1500 people. A few dollars can buy you a cup of coffee or a meal at a fast food chain, but if we all work together and combine those dollars we can provide water for an entire community.

"You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give". Winston Churchill

About Us

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that's bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water.

We tell stories. The story of water, the story of change, and the story of hope. These stories inspire people to raise the money needed to build wells and other water projects at schools, medical centers, churches and other public places in under-developed nations.

With monies raised, our partners in the field can do the digging and construction needed to provide clean, safe water efficiently and sustainably. They also mobilize, train, and follow-up with local communities, helping ensure long-term success.

We work closely with our partners around the world who identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. That's how we share the whole story with you and hopefully inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
