A Year Later: Improved Community Relationships!

Purity, 16, recalled what life was like in the Mayuge Community before her community's spring was protected last year.

"We used to crowd at the water point, struggling to collect water first to rush home and continue with other work. This was because water had diverted to different directions, making it difficult to collect and time-wasting," Purity expressed.

Collecting water is now less tedious for Purity and the other community members in the Mayuge Community.

"Now we take less time at the water point with water discharging at [a] high speed. The spring is also well covered, preventing dust and other contaminations affecting our water," she continued.

Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Purity, allowing her to experience better relationships within her community and no longer miss out on classes due to illness.

"Water has helped improve relationships around the entire community as people collaborate and work together. Also, we no longer miss our classes as before when we were sick after drinking [in] the spring," Purity concluded.
